Required skills include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting open water dives within the depth range of 9 meters/30 feet to 30 meters/100 feet
  • Completing two dives deeper than 20 meters/50 feet and one dive deeper than 27 meters/90 feet
  • Ensuring the partial pressure of oxygen does not exceed the manufacturer's recommendation or a working limit of 1.3
  • Adhering to CNS percentage limits with a recommended maximum of 80 percent of the total CNS limit
  • Employing additional skills for users opting for an automatic diluent valve (ADV) approved by the manufacturer, such as regular diluent gauge monitoring and addition control
  • Unit assembly and disassembly
  • Verifying diluent and oxygen contents using an analyzer
  • Executing proper predive planning procedures and emergency protocols
  • Effectively managing loop breathing volume for buoyancy control
  • Performing safety stops at predetermined depths and monitoring partial pressure of oxygen levels

  • Course completion within 6 weeks from the starting date
  • Complete a refresher course after a period of inactivity exceeding 6 months post-course completion
