TDI Advanced Nitrox

Who this course is for

This course is designed for:

• Certified nitrox divers seeking to broaden their knowledge of nitrox mixtures containing over 40% oxygen
• Certified nitrox divers aiming to enhance their in-water skills
• Certified divers with an interest in advancing their technical diving education

What you can expect to learn

The Advanced Nitrox course builds upon the foundation laid by TDI Nitrox and delves deeper into the following areas:

• Physics and physiology related to diving with gas mixes containing over 40% oxygen
• Gas planning, dive tables, dive computers, oxygen and nitrogen limitations
• Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, nitrox mixture analysis, gas blending procedures, and oxygen service ratings for gases containing over 40% oxygen

Skills covered in this course include:

• Demonstrating precise buoyancy control, maintaining a fixed position in the water column without using hands or feet
• Exhibiting awareness of dive buddies and team members through effective communication, proximity, and team-oriented dive practices
• Managing a free flow from the primary regulator in a controlled manner, executing a shutdown cycle, and switching to the backup regulator
• Conducting an appropriate safety stop while maintaining neutral buoyancy
• Sharing air with a buddy as both recipient and donor in a controlled manner while maintaining position in the water column
• Maintaining correct body position and trim, such as horizontal/streamlined movement when advancing
• Applying proper stress analysis techniques for oneself and dive buddies

TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver minimum certification requirements:

• Satisfactorily complete the TDI Advanced Nitrox course and written examination
•  fulfill all open water requirements in a safe and efficient manner
• Demonstrate mature and sound judgment concerning dive planning and execution
